The Alliance serves, supports, and inspires students and
families to build a healthier community for all.
The Alliance offers a range of programs, including Curriculum-Based Support Groups® that foster essential life skills in students aged 4-17, and Positive Alternatives that provide supervised, alcohol- and drug-free activities for youth. Additionally, we commemorate Red Ribbon Week and Love Above Week, deliver educational presentations on substance use prevention, and address teen vaping through the INDEPTH program, which teaches students about nicotine dependence and healthy alternatives.
From June 2023 to April 2024, the Alliance engaged over 3,700 youth and nearly 2,000 adults in alcohol, tobacco, and drug prevention presentations, as well as community education activities. Additionally, we collected 36,269 pounds of medications, contributing to a total of 105,000 pounds since 2010.
The Alliance facilitates the Curriculum-Based Support Group® (CBSG) Program. This evidence-based intervention targets students aged 4-17 who face high-risk situations, fostering essential life skills through confidential, small group sessions. CBSG effectively reduces anti-social behavior and substance use while enhancing coping and social skills.

In the 2024–2025 school year, The Alliance began offering the
Botvin LifeSkills Training Elementary School Program in 5th grade PE classes across Clear Creek ISD. This evidence-based program, designed
for upper elementary students, helps prevent substance abuse and
violence by building confidence, promoting healthy decision-making,
and teaching essential life skills that support mental wellness
and positive youth development.

A cornerstone of the Alliance’s prevention efforts is education. We offer no-cost presentations aimed at increasing knowledge and shifting attitudes about substance use and behavioral health. These presentations are available to youth and adults in schools and community settings.
Our Positive Alternatives program offers engaging, structured activities that provide supervised, alcohol- and drug-free environments. These activities help individuals, particularly youth, find constructive ways to enjoy their free time while learning new skills, ultimately steering them away from situations that encourage substance use.
With youth vaping rates on the rise, INDEPTH offers a proactive, evidence-based response. Developed by the American Lung Association, this interactive program educates students on the dangers of nicotine dependence while promoting healthy, sustainable alternatives. During the 2023–2024 school year, The Alliance successfully introduced INDEPTH at Friendswood High School. Now, we're excited to expand its reach with the launch of INDEPTH ONLINE—making it accessible to even more students across CCISD and FISD.
Red Ribbon Week commemorates the legacy of Enrique “Kiki” Camarena, a DEA agent who lost his life in the fight against drugs. This year, the Alliance supported all CCISD campuses by providing materials like ribbons, bracelets, and stickers for their Red Ribbon Week activities. We also delivered presentations at several schools, including Whitcomb and Landolt Elementary, Westbrook Intermediate, and Clear Brook High School and more.
Initiated by the Alliance in 2014, Love Above Week is celebrated each February at Clear View High School, emphasizing love over drugs, alcohol, and violence.
This tradition features a variety of activities and culminates
in sharing notes of encouragement, promoting
positivity and school connectedness. This year's theme,
"Paint With Colors of Kindness," fostered unity
and resilience among students and staff.
