We Are Hiring: AmeriCorps Bay Area Alliance Development Specialist VISTA (Y1)

The Bay Area Alliance for Youth and Families (The Alliance) is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as an AmeriCorps Bay Area Alliance Development Specialist VISTA (Y1). This position will help us fulfill our mission to serve, support, and inspire students and families in the Clear Creek and Friendswood Independent School Districts (ISDs), with a particular focus on at-risk families.

The Alliance works to build a healthier community by providing resources and opportunities to students and families in need. We serve a diverse range of students, with a focus on those from low-income households, by offering assistance with back-to-school supplies, holiday support, and ongoing basic needs such as food, clothing, utilities, and water. Additionally, we partner students with local organizations to engage in positive activities like sports and music lessons, which help to build resilience and reduce the risk of future hardships.

Through our Curriculum-Based Support Groups, we currently serve over 400 at-risk students across multiple school districts, working to equip them with the skills and resources to thrive academically and personally.

As the Bay Area Alliance Development Specialist VISTA, you will play a key role in expanding the reach and impact of our work by developing communication resources, increasing volunteer engagement, and advancing our fundraising initiatives. This position will focus on building long-term sustainability by creating systems that will help us increase fundraising and development outcomes. Your work will directly contribute to the success of The Alliance’s mission to provide critical support to youth and families who need it most.

• Develop and implement communications strategies to enhance outreach efforts for The Alliance.
• Increase volunteer engagement by creating outreach campaigns and volunteer resources.
• Support fundraising initiatives and create systems to improve long-term sustainability.
• Work with local organizations and partners to expand opportunities for at-risk youth.
• Build systems and processes that will enhance development and fundraising efforts.
